Top 5 Free Bible Apps for Android Phone or Tablets
Lately I've been doing more of my Bible reading on my Kindle Fire. I still like the feel of paper Bibles but electronic Bibles are just so much convenient. Especially since electronic Bibles will allow you to carry so much more than just the Bible all on your phone. I've tried out almost every Bible app for Android that I could find. This is a list of my favorite Bible apps for Android.
If you use an iPhone or iPad you might want to look at my other hub that lists the best Bible apps for iPhone or iPad.
Bible.is
Bible.is is an app for Android by Faith Comes By Hearing who is a group that makes Bibles in audio format in different languages. They offer their audio Bible in over 600 languages including Albanian, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), English, French, German, Russian, and many more. With this app you can listen to the Bible in your own languages as you watch the text on your screen. When you're driving to or from work you can load up this app and listen to the Bible on your way. If you ever say you don't have time to read the Bible, you now have no excuse. You can listen to it while driving, running or doing chores around the house using this audio bible app.
Bible Android App
Bible by YouVersion
Bible by YouVersion is one of the most popular Bible apps for Android or iPhone. The layout and navigation of this app is easy to use and it includes many versions of the English Bible for download as well as many other languages of the Bible available for download. This app has many reading plans that will help you track your progress. This app will sync with the youversion website which will allow you to keep notes or view notes taken by others. If you like to share Bible verses on Facebook or Twitter you can connect this Bible app to your account and share your scripture or notes.
And Bible Android App
And Bible
The And Bible app is the best Bible study app for Android. It is the only Bible app that I know of for Android that has a Strong's Concordance for download for free. It has many commentaries available for download for free. This app is the best to use to study the Bible on a Kindle Fire or your Android phone. I use this because I can download many commentaries and Bible versions, and easily switch between them while I am studying.
The one problem that this app has is that it doesn't include the ability to highlight. I'm hoping they will fix this soon.
ESV Bible App
If the ESV Bible is your preferred translation, this app is simply that. The interface is clean and easy to read which makes this app nice. This app would be great if it synced with the esvonline.org website and would allow me to see the ESV study bible and other study materials that I have on the website. But, this is a great Bible app if you prefer the ESV translation and you just need the Bible without all the extras.
Sermon Audio
Sermon Audio isn't a Bible reading app but it can help you learn the Bible. It's an app to listen to thousands of MP3 sermons from thousands of different speakers. Browse and listen to sermons by topic, Bible verse, speaker and the church.
Though this app isn't a Bible or commentary it's still a great tool to learn from. I like listening to sermons while in the car. It makes having to drive a long distance feel productive.

Use Android for Bible Study
I have been using my Kindle Fire more and more for my Bible reading. When I first started using the Kindle Fire for my Bible study I thought it would be a hassle to navigate and read. It's been a lot easier than I imagined and I now prefer using it than searching through different Bibles and commentaries. I've even started carrying it to church with me instead of my ESV Study Bible. I really love printed Bibles but having everyone in one device is just so convenient. With these apps and an Android device I can carry around commentaries, concordances, dictionaries and different versions of scripture.
